Daiwa Blind Bolt 140S-LI 140mm, 32g Sinking LI Blue Pink Iwashi

The Daiwa Blind Bolt 140S-LI is a precision-engineered Japanese sinking minnow built for open-water predator fishing — the kind of scenario where distance, sink rate, and a convincing baitfish profile are everything. At 140mm and 32g it sits in the sweet spot for casting heavy spinning or light overhead tackle, and the Li Blue Pink Iwashi colourway — a silver-flanked sardine/sprat imitation with a pink belly wash — is one of Daiwa's most versatile saltwater patterns in low-light or coloured water.

In Japan, the Blind Bolt was developed specifically for sawara (Spanish mackerel) and pelagic bluefish on the boat — fast, slashing species that demand maximum casting range and a quick, decisive sink on the pause. Those same demands translate directly to UK saltwater fishing: this lure is a serious option for bass over rough ground and sandbars, mackerel and garfish on the drift, pollack on the retrieve around wrecks and pinnacles, and surface-busting bluefin tuna popping up in southern inshore marks during late summer. The "S" designation confirms sinking action; the "LI" (Long Inertia) casting system within the body shifts weight on the forward cast for exceptional distance on a long-range spinning outfit.

Work it on a straight fast retrieve to keep it in the upper column, or allow a counted sink followed by a rip-and-pause to probe deeper. The tight, rapid roll of a heavy slim minnow at pace is a presentation that flat-out cuts through on pressured marks where conventional lures are ignored.
